From PDF to flashcards in 4 steps
- Create a board (or open an existing one) for the subject or chapter you want to learn.
- Upload your PDF or photo. A syllabus, a textbook chapter, your own lecture notes or a photo of a word list: it all works.
- Choose what the AI should make: vocabulary, questions & answers or concepts with their definitions. Optionally add an extra focus, such as “only the dates” or “chapter 3 only”.
- Check and study. Quickly review the cards, fix anything that could be better and start right away with flip, multiple choice or spaced repetition.
Three kinds of AI flashcards
Not every subject calls for the same kind of card. That is why you choose the best-fitting mode for each upload.
Vocabulary
Ideal for language classes. The AI pulls word pairs from your course and turns them into cards in the direction you choose.
Questions & answers
For subjects like history, geography or biology. The AI turns your material into quiz questions, the way a teacher would ask them in a test.
Concepts
For theory-heavy subjects with lots of definitions, such as economics, psychology or science. Each card has a term on the front and the explanation on the back.
Tips for the best results
- Upload one chapter at a time. A PDF of about 15 pages at most gives sharper cards than a whole course at once.
- Use a sharp photo. Shoot straight from above, with good light and no shadow over the text.
- Add an extra focus if you only need to know part of the material.
- Pick the right mode. Word lists work best with Vocabulary, running text with Questions or Concepts.
AI is a quick helper, not a replacement for your own judgement. Always check the cards before you study — that way you know everything is right, and you already go through the material once.
Why flashcards from your own course work
Flashcards make you retrieve the answer yourself before you flip the card. That active recall strengthens your memory far more than rereading or highlighting a text. Because the cards come from your own course, you practise exactly what can come up in your exam.
Flipeezy does the rest: with spaced repetition the cards you find hard come back more often, and the multiple choice and type modes test you as if it were exam day.
Rather make your cards yourself?
Of course you can. Type your cards yourself or import an existing word list as a CSV file. Read about all the ways to make flashcards online.
